Established more than 60 years ago in the center of McLean, VA, Redeemer Renaissance Preschool (RRP, formerly Redeemer Lutheran Preschool) is an educational mission of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer which strives to create a loving environment for your 1.5 to 5-year-old child to learn and grow.
We believe that children are capable and innately motivated learners. Our research-backed, project-based, emergent curriculum is guided by students’ interests, questions, and curiosities. Through joyful learning and collaborative play, our program is designed to cultivate growth of children’s physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development, as well as their creative problem-solving skills. Our professional and experienced teachers intentionally prepare a creatively stimulating classroom environment and utilize our outdoor setting so children can explore and gain knowledge about the world around them. This close-knit preschool cultivates relationships, which are the foundation of our safe and nurturing learning environment.

Redeemer Renaissance Preschool is nestled on 5 acres in the heart of McLean, VA with various areas for rich learning experiences.

A multipurpose Learning Lab, which includes a fully-stocked studio art cart, woodworking benches with tools for tinkering, open access to loose parts for design challenges, and a LEGO wall for 3D structure building

A fully-equipped, fenced playground which adheres to international guidelines for playground safety

A natural play area outfitted with sand, stumps, logs, and a nature library for open-ended play

Open fields for nature walks, scavenger hunts, and environmental education lessons
We closely follow Virginia’s Early Learning & Development Standards and derive many lessons using The Creative Curriculum for Preschool to build a strong foundation of discovery, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Each day, teachers use whole group lessons to connect with all of the children to introduce topics and concepts, small group work to meet children where they are individually, introducing ideas and activities that are just the right level of challenging for each child, and choice time to provide children with ownership and autonomy in their learning.

We are currently scheduling our 2024-25 enrollment period tours now. Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is on a space available basis. Please call for information.

Redeemer Renaissance Preschool has a simple enrollment process. For current families, the registration deadline is January 19, 2024. For families new to RRP, the registration deadline is January 26, 2024. Families on the wait list will be given priority and applications are processed on a first come first served basis. Once a class is full, students are placed on the wait list in the order received. Current families at Redeemer Renaissance Preschool are encouraged to register during the In-House Registration period, January 12 - 19, to secure their child's space for the next year’s enrollment. After January 19th, current families will register on a first come, first served basis during the Open Registration period.
Please Note: We are a Christian preschool, but our enrollment is open to families of all faiths. Redeemer Renaissance Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or national or ethnic origin in the admission of students or the administration of educational policies.
To register, complete the online enrollment form. The $75 registration fee, first annual tuition payment, and last annual tuition payment (deposit) must be received within one week to complete your registration. These payments will be processed through Simply Giving. Required forms and a voided check may be dropped off Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-3:00pm.
